The Way to Work Sustainable Workforce SOLUTIONS© (The Way to Work) is an evidence based program providing solutions for both the employee and the employer.  Modeled after two successful programs – Cascade Engineering’s Welfare-to-Career (W2C) program based in Grand Rapids, Michigan and Cincinnati Works© based in Cincinnati, Ohio, The Way to Work is unique from other workforce models as it focuses on identifying learned behaviors of individuals that cause employment conflicts both with the employee and the supervisor. The Way to Work provides employers training and support for their employees who demonstrate a need for soft, social and behavioral skills. Additionally, supervisors and managers who work with these employees are trained to better understand the needs of their workforce.

This program only works when the three following components are in force.

  1. A corporate culture demonstrating the need and desire to improve the community by its willingness to work with the local workforce and put into place policies that will enable employees to gain sustainable employment.
  2. Training for supervisors and managers who oversee the day-to-day operations of the entry level employees.
  3. Training and support for employees including soft, behavioral and social skills training and one-on-one career coaching and counseling.

The Way to Work Sustainable Workforce SOLUTIONS© was developed at the request of local industry due to a shortage of local workforce and is operated by HOPE Ministries a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
